Alaska is a beautiful place.  The people who live there are even more beautiful.   But like in every culture, we all struggle with sin.  Every person in every culture deals with this problem. In fact, every person on earth needs to be cleansed of their sin and it can only be done by the redemptive work of Jesus Christ who died on the cross and rose from the grave three days later defeating death forever!  This is the Gospel or "good news" that Jesus Himself commanded us to take to all people ... in every culture.

Why take the Gospel to Alaska?  Because that is what God has put in our hearts.  This work is already being accomplished where we live in PA.  But Alaska is one of the places where God has called us to go.

John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world (every culture), that He gave His one and only son (Jesus) and whoever believes in Him WILL BE SAVED".  Saved from what?  The Bible says that every human being is born with a sin nature which separates them from God.  The Creator (Who is Jesus Christ) will be revealed to all people and He desires to reconcile all of mankind to Himself.   Unless people accept Jesus' death on the cross for their sins, they will spend eternity in Hell which is painful, eternal separation from God.  This is what the Bible teaches.  This fate awaits everyone who does not know Jesus ... in every culture.  This is what the Bible teaches.  That is why we take the message of Jesus so passionately to other cultures ... to tell as many people of God's love for them as possible.  This is the urgent message of missions today.

The Bible also says that Satan's goal is to deceive many into believing that there is no God, no Hell and that the Bible is false.  Satan also clouds men's minds by stirring up hate, dissension and division between cultures so that they never understand the unity and love we can experience as one Body in Jesus.  Racism is a horrible thing.

Please pray for the believers who live there ... both native and non-native Christians.   For thousands  of years people have lived in spiritual darkness and in fear of evil spirits.   They did not know Who their Creator was.  The Bible teaches that every culture that has not been introduced to their Creator lives in spiritual blindness (2 Corinthians 4:4).  People in all cultures seek truth and meaning for life but without the Truth revealed in Jesus Christ, they have been deceived by counterfeit spirits.   The Bible teaches this.  Many native villages are in bondage to alcoholism and despair.   As followers of Jesus Christ, we know from God's Word that only He can free them from that kind of bondage.  Many native people have given their lives to Jesus and have allowed Him to break the chains of sin in their lives like He has in ours.

Please pray that the Kingdom of Jesus Christ is powerfully established in Alaska.

We have been taking missionary assignments to Alaska since 1995.  We see our role in Alaska as an outside ministry helping native and white fellow believers there and serving people so that God's name would be glorified.  Below is a brief outline of the trips we have taken.

Here are some verses from 1 Corinthians 5: 11-21 that describes our commitment to spreading the Good News of Jesus:

"Since, then, we know what it is to fear the Lord, we try to persuade men. What we are is plain to God, and I hope it is also plain to your conscience.  We are not trying to commend ourselves to you again, but are giving you an opportunity to take pride in us, so that you can answer those who take pride in what is seen rather than in what is in the heart.   If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.  For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died.   And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer.  Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!   All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation:  that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men's sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.   We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ's behalf: Be reconciled to God.   God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."

This is probably the best description from the Bible that we have to show you why we do what we do.  If you have more questions, please feel free to email us.
