July 21-30 - Blessing the town of Sutton!

Sutton is a little town located northeast of Anchorage along the Glenn Highway. You can read more about the town by clicking on the mountains to the right. 

Grace Bible Church is the only church in town and pastor Larry Davis and his Evelyn (pictured below) have been serving the people for the last two and a half years.  Their love for the people there is very refreshing and you will be very encouraged by them.  They lived 18 years on a remote homestead before being called as pastor of Grace Bible Church.  They both accepted the LORD as Savior many years ago.

Last year we sent a team of men in August to work on the church's food bank (blue building below right) which is one of the ministries that reaches many people in the area.  Sutton has people that need assistance in living and when we build into this local church, we will help establish trust with their neighbors.   The church desires to show the love of Jesus by unconditionally loving the people of their community.  When this happens, people will begin to see the church as an important part of their lives and be more open to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  This is our chance to help build up this small local church.  This strengthens the Body of Christ in Alaska.  That is our passion! 

We need people on this team that desire to serve and love the people of Sutton!

SKILLS NEEDED:  

We will need some skilled framing carpenters on this team.  An outdoor roof/awning needs to be built that covers the wheelchair access to the church that will protect it from snow that slides off the main roof.  There is a wall that will need to be removed as well that will allow a dining area to have access to the kitchen.  We also need some skilled trim carpenters who can install doors and inside trim.  There will be jobs for less skilled people as well like painting and general cleanup.  Help with cooking for the team will also be needed.  The goal is to find 6-8 people to be on this team.
