LightShine Ministries        Our 15th Year!

We have been helping Copper Center Community Chapel build their camping ministry since 1998.  The camp is located on a wilderness lake 10 miles outside of Chitina.  Many kids from the Copper River Valley have enjoyed spending time at the camp.   Most of the children are from Copper Center and specifically from the Ahtna village.  These kids look forward to going to camp all year.  We are so pleased to be able to serve them and continue to provide tools for ministry for the leaders in Copper Center. 

Tom & Carey Carew (left) have taken leadership of the camp and have asked us to return this year to help them with a few projects.  We will be working together with them and several other volunteers from Copper Center during our week at camp!  This will be an awesome time of fellowship and work as we encourage one another in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Part of our Globe Creek Father/Son Team that worked north of Fairbanks during the previous week will be travelling from that part of the state on Saturday afternoon (the 14th) to Copper Center.  There they will be staying overnight and going to Copper Center Community Chapel the next day.  That afternoon they will be going out to Strelna Lake Bible Camp and working for two days at the camp cutting firewood, clearing brush and spending time with the Carews and others who will join us.  If you live in Copper Center, we would love to have you come out to camp with us.  We will be out at camp from Sunday afternoon, August 15 - Tuesday morning, August 17.  Our team will be driving to Anchorage on Tuesday to catch a flight that evening.
