Steve & Renee Hoey

Steve and Renee have been married since December of 1987.  They have two grown children and three wonderful grandchildren.  Steve graduated from Lancaster Bible College in 1999 with a degree in Bible and Ministry Leadership.  During and since that time he and Renee spent 7 years in Rescue and Christian Camping Ministry for Central Union Mission of Washington DC, where Steve’s love for the outdoors and using that as a launching point to reach lives for Jesus really took root.  Three years prior, Steve worked as a Chaplain at Water Street Rescue Mission, in Lancaster, Pa.

Steve and Renee have a strong desire to see men and women follow Jesus in every aspect of their lives.  It has been said that “God rarely uses someone greatly whom He has not greatly crushed”.  Steve and Renee had some very difficult, crushing times in their marriage, but to His glory God saw them through and brought them out the other end as shining examples of His grace.

Steve currently works at Meadow Valley Electric, in Ephrata, Pa as a Journeyman Electrician and job foreman.  His true heart desire is to be back involved full-time in vocational ministry , however, he is content where God has him now.  Steve joined the staff at LightShine in the summer of 2012 and looks forward to leading trips for God’s glory in the years to come.
