In May 2009 there was a devastating ice flood in Eagle, Alaska. Click HERE to see photos of the event.  This team was LightShine's first Disaster Relief Team.

Click on the map to the right to see where Eagle is located.  Eagle is located on the border of Alaska and Canada on the Yukon River.  It is one of the most remote villages on the road system.  Please click on the photos below to see some of the work they did.  A more detailed description is coming ...

There was still a lot of evidence of the flood.

Their meals were served in a town hall.  They stayed in tents and slept in sleeping bags.

They had many chances to spend time with local people.

Rob Paire, Jerry Polizzi and Jeremy Schmoel provided leadership in Eagle and for this team.  Thanks to KJNP in North Pole for the use of their van as well as Steve and Kayla Bouldin for their hospitality.  Thanks to everyone in involved!

Lord willing, we will be returning to Eagle in 2010.  Email us of you want to be involved:  lightshinealaska@comcast.net
