Globe Creek Camp   September 19 - 28, 2009

 

We will be returning for our third trip to Globe Creek Camp in 2009.  Our desire is to use this trip to complete a bunch of projects and prepare the camp for winter.

This team will be for skilled carpenters and general laborers who have a desire to work hard with their hands. 

We will have to see what the director of the camp has to say about exactly what we will be building early next year.  We will keep you posted.  But this trip is primarily for those who can work with their hands.  You will be sleeping in sleeping bags on thick foam mattresses and this is a photo of your shower.  You will have a lot of fun but this is definitely a trip for those who love the outdoors and don't mind "roughing it".  One thing you will not do is go hungry!  All your food will be provided and Globe Creek Camp's cook is wonderful!

You will be arriving in Fairbanks, Alaska on Saturday, September 19th.  Sunday the team will go to church in North Pole, meet some great people and get ready for a week of hard work at the camp.  Monday through Friday the team will working hard at the camp.  On Saturday, the 26th the team will travel to Denali State Park for a "touristy" day of sightseeing.  You will see some magnificent mountains.   At this time of year snow is on it's way!  You may see some of it before you leave.    On Sunday (September 27th) after church the team will make it's way back to Fairbanks and catch a flight in the evening back home.  The team will arrive at home on Monday, May 28th.

We are looking for people who can do:

1. Skilled Carpentry

2. Log Construction

3. Roofing

4. Painting

5. General Labor (cutting firewood, clearing brush, etc.)

Specific jobs will be announced as we get closer to the trip
