In 1996, we
became friends with Mike & Adeline Potts
in Alaska.
Adeline,
Mike's wife is an Alaskan Native from the Han people of region near Eagle,
Alaska. Mike was the pastor of Copper Center Community
Chapel
for 6 years and we partnered with him in building
Strelna Lake Wilderness Bible Camp.
Mike's vision was to create a primitive camp where the church could take their
children and families to "get away" and spend time with God. The camp at Strelna Lake is there today because of Mike's leadership. Mike left
his job as pastor of
Copper Center Community Chapel in 2001 and began a
church planting expedition in Mongolia. Since
that time, he and their family regularly visit the church they started in
Mongolia but they also own land in Minnesota. Mike contacted us and asked
for some help in helping establish a pastor's retreat there. After many
months of seeking God through prayer and His Word, we decided to take on this
new challenge. CLICK HERE to see photos from
the camp we are building on Birch Island on Lake Vermilion in Minnesota. Here are some photos from their work in Mongolia. Please pray for the the believers there that God would strengthen them in their walk with Him.
