We are pleased to announce our first ministry trip working with YWAM in Homer, Alaska.  Recently we spoke with Scott Smith who is the director of this ministry and he asked us to help them transform an older building into offices and classrooms for their new base of operations.  Below is a photo of the building we will be working in.

Homer is a beautiful fishing town and is home to their world famous spit.  Click on the photo to the right to see some more photos of Homer.  Youth With A Mission (YWAM) is known all over the world for developing leaders and young missionaries and sending them to the remotest parts of the earth.  This is an assignment that will affect many people for years to come.  Click on the YWAM Arctic Mercy logo banner at the top of this page to go to their website.

Upon arriving in Anchorage, Alaska on April 29, the team will staying overnight at Mountain Home Fellowship in Palmer.  In the morning they will be driving to Homer which is a beautiful 6 hour drive south on the Kenai Peninsula.

The team leaders of this team are three veteran LighShine staff people who have worked in several different parts of the state over the last 4 years.

Carl Ginder (left) will be able to answer your questions regarding the details of the team assignment.  You can click on his photo if you would like to email him with questions about the trip.

Larry & Teri Newell will be handling the logistics of transportation in Alaska and making sure the team is equipped with all the tools needed to do the job.

Please pray for this team as they prepare to leave this Saturday!
