Globe Creek Camp   February 28 - March 9, 2009

               

 

Did you ever want to experience Alaska in the winter months?  Then this is the missions opportunity you have been waiting for!  We will be working for one week at Globe Creek Camp which needs help in completing a lot of inside projects.  Globe Creek Camp is a Bible camp for children, youth and families in the Fairbanks region of Alaska.  Make sure you check out their website (link above) and see what God is doing there!  LightShine Ministries is excited to be a part in helping establish this camp by bringing missionary teams from outside Alaska to do work for them.  This is an opportunity for the Body of Christ to minister to itself in another part of the world. 

The team will arrive on Saturday, February 28th in Fairbanks and travel to Globe Creek Camp for a week of inside work doing drywall finishing, painting, trim work, inside carpentry, etc.  Sunday the team will go to church in North Pole, meet some great people and get ready for a week of hard work at the camp.  Monday through Friday the team will work helping with whatever the camp director needs.  On Saturday, the 7th the team wil go to the World Ice Art Championships in Fairbanks to experience some Alaskan culture.  On Sunday (March 8th) after church the team will make it's way back to Fairbanks and catch a flight in the evening back home.  You will arrive at home on Monday, March 9th.

We are looking for people who can do:

1. Painting

2. Drywall Finishing

3. Trim Work / Carpentry

4. Specific jobs will be announced as we get closer to the trip
