Copper Center Community Church

Copper Center Community Chapel

This local church is very important part of the native village in Copper Center, Alaska.  God continues to build His Kingdom in the hearts of people and all of us (followers of Jesus Christ) must continue to ask Him what our part is in doing the work of the Body of Christ (all living Christians).

In February 2011, Pastor Jim Eaches and his wife Pam and their 7 children, came to Copper Center Community Church.  Pastor Jim went to school at Alaska Bible College and desires for everyone to read God's Word on a regular basis.  Jim & Pam raise financial support as  missionaries through Village Missions in order to pastor this small church.

Cleave & Donna Mugford also serve at the church.  Pastor Cleave teaches classes and Donna leads singing. Cleave is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute and loves the people of Copper Center.  Pray for them and their 2 children.

Vision for the Future

There is a very pressing need for this church and we want to stand behind them in order to make that need known.  The current church building is getting very old and is in great need of being replaced.  In 2010, a 52'X100' cement foundation was poured at a new location in the Khluti-Kah (native Ahtna) village and plans were drawn up under the direction of Craig Norwood who served as an interim pastor before the Eaches arrived.  In May 2011, we sent up a framing crew and the new building was started.

This is an exciting but challenging vision for this small local church.  In 2011, several donations were given that allowed the church to finish the outside of the building and prepare it for winter.

By faith, we are working with the leadership of the church and preparing to send 3 teams this year to complete this facility so the congregation can use the building by Christmas of this year.

There are several needs that we are presenting to you that need to be provided for.  The following are building material costs.  LightShine Ministries plans on sending skilled workers to complete these tasks but the materials need to be purchased first.  Has God blessed you in abundance so that you can bless others?  If so, please consider purchasing one of the following for the church.

1. Each bathroom - $2,000

2. The kitchen will cost - $3,500

3. Outside Paint - $500

4. Septic - $15-18,000

5. Electrical - $11,500

6. Insulation - $7,000

7. Furnace/Duct Work - $18,000

8. Interior Trim & Paint - $1,200

All donations are tax deductible.  You can contact Craig (for project inquiries) - craigandlani@gmail.com and the church bookkeeper - jweaver@cvinternet.net  if you have further questions.
