We are
going to be working for two different churches on this team and we are very
excited about it!
Copper Center Community Chapel and
Kenny Lake Community
Chapel
Both churches serve the Copper River Valley
between Glennallen and Valdez, Alaska.
LightShine Ministries has been helping build
and maintain Strelna Lake Wilderness Bible Camp since 1998. The camp is used for ministry to the children of
the Copper River Valley in southeastern Alaska. The camp is a ministry of
Copper Center Community Church. Most of the
children that come to camp are from the Ahtna village in Copper Center.
The camp gives them a chance to spend an enjoyable week having fun with
friends while also learning more about their relationship with
their Creator, Jesus Christ.

them in full size.

Our goal for this team is two fold:
1.
Spend a couple days at the camp doing
needed repairs from this summer's use, replenishing firewood and clearing brush.
The idea is to do a general cleaning of the camp and prepare it for next year!
2. We will be helping Kenny Lake Community
Chapel insulate (blue foam between furring strips) and hang drywall in their
church. The original 2X4 wall construction of their old church is not
enough too keep the cold out in interior Alaska and our goal is to help them
finish the project.
We
will be spending four days working at Kenny
Lake Community Chapel and two days working at the camp.
